What is Q-CAST?

Q-CAST is a device that allows you to perform screen mirroring function in a fully wireless way; so, you can replicate the image signal that you have on your mobile's phone, tablet or pc in an other display in live mode.

Thanks to it, you will be able to get the same image content that you have on our favourite devices at the same time in an additional monitor (television, external display, vehicle's monitor... etc). Q-CAST also transfers audio signal.



¿Which are its requirements if we want to install it in a vehicle?

If we want to install the product on a vehicle in order to be able to perform mirroring on the vehicle's genuine monitor, then, we will need (imprescindibly) to be able to have a video input to insert Q-CAST video signal. In most of the cases (in most of the market vehicle's), it will be necessary to adquire additionally a multimedia interface, which is a product that allow us to insert external video signals on vehicle's factory monitors.

* In few occasions we will be able to use vehicle factory RCA video inputs (it uses to be included in few BMW and Mercedes vehicles), but you must note that in those cases, if we want to be able to use the mirroring function while vehicle is moving, it will be necessary to adquire and install a TV-Free interface, because if we don't, video emission will be interrupted when we overpass 5km/h speed because of onboard security and driving laws.

If your vehicle includes a colour monitor, then you can contact us and will tell you which multimedia interface can you adquire in order to connect Q-CAST to your vehicle.

* If you want to get a better image quality than the one that you get when connecting the device through RCA composite video, then you can adquire the HDMI to RGB conversor, so you can convert the device's HDMI output signal into a RGB video signal and then insert it to the vehicle through the multimedia interface RGB input.

Then you also must note that in order to insert the mirrored device audio to the vehicle speaker's system you have 2 possibilities:

1) If your vehicle has an AUX input or somekind of dedicated audio input system (such us Audi music interface in Audi vehicles, or Media IN in Volkswagen vehicles).

2) If your vehicle has a standard speaker's sound system (WITHOUT OPTICAL FIBER!), which allow you to insert the sound through a voice module. In case of your vehicle is able to perform this option, then you can adquire the sound insertion kit, which is composed by a voice module and its specific wiring harness.


Resuming; the components that you will need in order to install the system in most of the vehicles, are the following ones:

* Q-CAST
* Multimedia interface (if your vehicle doesn't have RCA composite video inputs from factory).
* Sound insertion kit (if your vehicle doesn't have an AUX input from factory and you have a standard sound speaker's system without optical fiber).
* HDMI to RGB video converter (if you want to get a better image quality and want to insert the video signal as a RGB video signal).

¿How does it work?

Once connected to a vehicle or to an external monitor, we will have to pair the mirroring emisor device to Q-CAST. To do that, we will follow the specific steps in every case.

For example; iOS devices (Apple devices); the steps to follow are; connect to the iOS device to the "Q-CAST" device that you will find on the wifi available networks, and then, enable AirPlay function on the iOS native menu. Then, in case of Android devices (it is imprescindible to have at least an Android v4.4.4 Kit Kat version), we will search the dedicated "Screen mirroring" function, available on shortcut menu on main screen or on a specific category that should be available on the device settings menu. 

Compatibility

Q-CAST allows the image duplication in real time without cuts and with immediate response of the following formats:

• DLNA
• Miracast
• Airplay
• WiDi

In this way the system is suitable with almost all the devices on the market: Smartphone, tablets, PC, it's also suitable with the most common OS used: *Android 4.2, Windows 8.1, iOS 4.3 or higher.
